Do you think the voting proxies and other records from an election be kept in case needed to review later?  If so, for how long should the books and records be kept?

Yes those records should be kept and it should be for seven (7) years in the event of dispute.

Absolutely the records must be kept. We recently had an "election" that was turned into a "consensus" after a protest by a few members. The heir-apparents used backdated mail, deposited it on a Friday with the hopes that few would get it or be able to verify any of the representations made. "Alliance" eliminated the Ballots (w/o authority to do so) of those who included an attachment indicating that their vote was based upon the representations made, but would have been cast the opposite way should the representations have been false. Of course, we are still battling a request for records, etc. that the Board is obligated to provide. Also, if you even try to get the financials from the ROA website run by another of Carona's companies (only to find out they are not there), you have to first agree to waive your right to privacy and release all personal information to any third party they choose. This is outrageous.

Accurate records should be kept of all meetings and transactions for a period not less than five years. Most are placed in a permanent file.
